We have been working to get the next build of Gang Beasts made for release on Steam Early Access, we wanted to do this for the end of July but there is still additional work we need to do on the game and the Steam page before we can publish the next build of the game. We have had several meetings in the last few days to review the progress made on the next build (see the current change log below for specific information) and spoken with our partners and have set the official release date for Early Access as the 29th August.
We understand that the people that have read the various comments we've made about our plans to try to get the next build of the game finished before August will be disappointed that we haven't been able to, but it is important that the key character features (climbing, kicking, and stomping) are fully implemented, balanced, and stable for the new stages and environments to work.
We have posted more information about the next build for those that want to read specific information on the modifications we've made to the character and games systems to date (see Steamcommunity.com).

Gang beast developer please do online
We want to support online modes but will sell the Early Access version of Gang Beasts as a local multiplayer game as we can't commit to adding online game modes until we have a working, stable, and tested implementation (we are working with the networking services company Multiplay to identify and test networking schemes for an online mode but this won't be a priority until later this year).

We have identified other distribution partners to work with but we want to stagger releasing the game through with each partner to make the learning curve and level of support manageable for us (as we are a small company and have limited resources currently).

The old pre-alpha builds will stay free, but the next build (the first alpha build) will be sold as a Steam Early Access game (see the Early Access FAQ at Store.steampowered.com for more information). We plan to discount Gang Beasts for the first week on Steam as darkjanggo wrote (thank you darkjanggo).
Another plane idea...
I know its been said a lot, but im gonna be more descriptive of how a plane level should be done. I think everyone should be in the cargo hold of a giant cargo plane. The back of the plane would be open and to be eliminated, players would have to fall out the back. Since its a cargo plane, I think there should be many boxes and crates, speedily flying out of the plane, instantly knoking out and possibly dragging any players in thier way. Also, I think maybe after a certain amount of time the planes engines should stop completely, making everything in the cargo hold rise up violently and hit the ceiling, before the engine slowly resets.
-Or inside a zoo with a lion or a bear.
May I say that is epic? Because I think its pretty epic...

That would be wonderful, but they need to profit to keep working on future projects, such as updates to Gang Beasts.

This game is great. Got it on steam, was so glad to see it. I know you guys have probably already talked about it, but just in case - it would be great to be able to have an option to pick teams. Setting up 1 on 1 elimination tournaments with brackets where we can name our player would be great too (and being able to name our player in general. Are there any plans for weapons that players can pick up?
PS. Love the work you guys are doing. You guys have really struck gold here
