Someone does a "let's play" of Amnesia. then another user does a "let's play" of Amnesia. did they copy the other? no. they had the same idea. lets make a playthrough of a cool game.
there's a mod for everything. even optimisation for god's sake! are they copying Optifine by optimising the game?
no. they are not. they had the same ideas as them. lets make Minecraft run better.
Everyone, for the love of god, stop this childish "they copied me!" talk. it's stupidity! they're bound to come up with similar concepts as other games. if we begin claiming this, or claiming that, what's left for the games industry to do?
The Youtube world isnt the gaming world, in youtube nobody cares if someone posts the same game over and over, the players have different ways to play them and its different.
Now, if someone copies ideas like TF2 (Final combat), Minecraft (Total miner)... Its different, those developers are stealing intellectual propeties that dont belong to em
Minecraft "stole" from Infiniminer.
Yet, it's the most popular game ever.
I personally believe copyright is wrong. if a game is good, people will choose it over a cheap knockoff.
Property? yes. protect properties. but ideas? ideas should be free.
If Cubes are copyright, then what hope do we have? what's next? zombies? spheres? enchanting?
Antonio Meucci had an idea, the telephone, Bell stole it. Today no one knows who is Antonio Meucci, but everyone knows Bell. Another example, you have a great something, but your best friend steals it and makes money from it. He stole your money, your idea, your fame.
If someone plays Total miner and he donest know minecraft, he will think that the guy who made that game had a great idea, and he will recive money, fame and other things that donest belong to him
New players wont know who made the "corner stairs" first and the guy who really deserves the fame wont have it
totally agree man, its like having all these survival maps, yes thy are pretty much the same thing, and some even look almost identical, but they are just the people with the same idea making something everyone likes, and this is just the same concept
Minecraft is a burnt-out game anyway. Mojang proved countless times they couldn't handle the hype and attention it got, then perpetually made it worse and worse.
ok have the perpetually made it worst and worst? Their making additions to survival mode (which extends the play ability of single player worlds) and the amount of detail that can go into building.( creative builds) Sure between updates minecraft can get boring, thats why you play on servers?
and also at least its coming into play now, Mojang is an indie developer working on a massively popular game that has million of people wanting more stuff for the game, they get what they can done when the time seems right. :/
i think when Mojang implements a mod's ideas in the main game the mod creator should feel flattered if the code is similar, it means their mod was so good that Mojang decided to make it base game.
will corner stairs work upsideown as well?
If they totally copied BetterBlocks, yeah
Well they did'nt "copy" they are using the idea with permission of the mod creater
You state that with certainty you couldn't possibly have.
Look. lets go to Youtube over this.

in all fairness, you shove 2 different groups of modders into 2 separate rooms, and tell them to enhance Minecraft, both will think up corner stairs.
the corner stair is not innovation. thousands of designers globally, hell, inter-dimensionally, have thought of it.
99% of the mods are not copywrited anyway...

well, minecraft is officially starting to lose the retro charm :P
still good game
How is it losing retro to make the stairs ******* work right finally.
Oh thank god finally.
Why is this only now coming into play?
