We’re very pleased to announce that this Sunday, 11th of March, we will be relaunching a new version of GameFront, built from the ground up by members of the original team, with all the content restored.
The new site utilises data which was backed up by the GameFront team, who have restored it to its former glory in an all new custom built website, meaning it will be the definitive place to find all the classic GameFront files, with previously lost author, description, readme and other metadata fully restored.
In addition, the site also features fully restored news articles, as well as the original GameFront forums.
But we’re not just about nostalgia, the new website allows creators to upload unlimited gaming files to their accounts quickly and easily, suggest new games and categories and fully customise their profile and download pages with images, videos and more, to make your own unique portal for your creations.
Follow us on twitter, @gamefrontcom, or on Facebook at Facebook.com for all the latest updates leading up to our relaunch on March 11, 2018!
Finally, a shout out to all the volunteers from the original GameFront and newcomers to the team who, over the last number of months have worked very hard and tirelessly to restore GameFront to it’s former glory. You guys are all amazing.
This is truly the GameFront we always imagined, built by the community, for the community.

I hope they get rid of that stupid country restriction.
They probably already did
You know it!
Don't worry, we're not implementing any kind of country restriction :)
Looks great. Wish you guys good luck!
Thanks! Hope to see you there. :)
Good. I missed all the DooM3 mods hosting there.
We've got you covered!

Wow how many years has it been now since the forums went down? I think I remember the original Forgotten Hope 2 forums were hosted on that site! Damn it must have been around a decade?
The Forgotten Hope 2 forums are still intact. :)
Awesome! Could you please provide a link to the subforum? I am having trouble finding it.
We're not live yet, but when the site goes live on Sunday I'll send you a link. :)
Thank you so much!
All of the files restored? Huzzah! Time to take a trip down memory lane with my favorite games from 15 years ago (God I feel old...).
Every post restored, though? Hoo boy, teenage me made some really cringey comments back in the day. Oh well, live and learn.
Haha, join the club! We did go back on forth on how much we should restore that was comments and forums for example, but in the end we decided it was the community that made GameFront special and that stuff all deserved to be restored and made available again, even if it is a bit cringe from time to time!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH
Really glad you're excited!
OH GOD ******* YES.
Exactly our thoughts too!!!
Does this mean that BCfiles is going online again?
Yes :) - clicky here -

And Armada2Files, and EF2Files, and...
;)
Sorry, but what happened to it in the first place?
It was closed down by Defy Media who decided they didn't want to get into gaming anymore, but the lovely INtense! bought the rights to the brand and domain names etc. and with the community's help we're now restoring what was lost. :)
Awesome. Good luck with it :)
Hello,
FYI: Large logo in description links to: (HTTPS) Gamefront.com which returns DNS error. Should be (HTTP) Gamefront.com
The new site is not live yet, but the new site uses SSL encryption so it will work once we launch on Sunday! ;)
Wait, all content recovered? Looks like I can find those old Call of Duty+Doom 3 maps and mods again! Also +1 on the no country restriction, hope to see GameFront reach its former glory again.
Yep! Thanks for the nice words.
I was just looking for more places to share my work. This is awesome news!
Redundancy saves mods :)
Looking good!!! Great job guys! :)
Glad you're enjoying it :)
Thank youuuu!!
You're welcome! :)
The site is live! :)
Damn DBolical! They have made a too drastic change to Gamefront, they have deleted all the contents connected to IndieDB and ModDB, including my account. And in the list there are only pure A triple titles of Shooters and MOBA, and there isn't even Minecraft.
GameFront now uses the database (or at least part of it) that used to be on that site before its 2016 shutdown. It is completely detached from DBolical's database because we tried to recreate what it used to be.
Not sure which list you're looking at, but the one on the site has FPS, RTS, RPGs, simulations etc. Minecraft was never really a part of the old GameFront, but you are certainly welcome to upload Minecraft stuff there.
To add to Plokite, all that data is still on IndieDB and ModDB, there is not much need to have identical content on two sites, but we are working to restore the stuff people uploaded via the GameFront version. People are free to upload Minecraft mods if they so wish.
Plokite_Wolk & FileTrekker, Hopefully in the coming days, put all that content of ModDB and IndieDB somewhere special place in the new gamefront.
P.D: I like your Sonic Mania GIF.
I tried logging in with my old email and password and it is saying those credentials don't exist, despite me having emails going back to at least 2012 with that same email address, and password. I never changed my passwords on old sites, so it should still be the same. I had the same name as I do here.
Sorry about that! Can you shoot me an email mikey@gamefront.com with any files you may have uploaded - or your email address / username which you used and I'll try my damnedest to get you back on track!
Email sent! Thanks mate!
