Grass-placing is already added in XashXT v0.65 and you can check a sample map inside of grass_test.pak (type "map grass_test" into console).

I just managed to launch this map and it looks like ******* garbage. The grass has this weird checkerboard rendering and the draw distance for the grass is ****! How do I fix this?
