Auralux (formerly Aurora) is an abstract, essentialized, and simplified real-time strategy game. You have only one type of unit to command and only one type of order to give those units. You and your opponents start the game with equal resources. Quick reflexes will get you nowhere. The only path to victory is through clever strategy. Auralux features a slow, floating feel and gorgeous minimalistic graphics. The entire world pulses to the rhythm of ambient music, and the player's actions evoke sounds that smoothly coalesce into melody. This game is meant to provide a relaxing, cerebral experience. Every action has its reaction, and every option has its costs. Auralux is a game in which your choices matter.

Problem with this game is the AI cheats like crazy.

Otherwise, it is a great game in the style of Abstractanks. But I believe the first game of this type was Little Stars, a fantastic game even today.

don't waste your money on this game, there are other versions of this which are free and much better developed.

I like the game. And it is fun to play. But this game is just the clone of an idea that is out there in a lot better version called "Phage Wars".
Not only is it free, it's also more fun and has a multiplayer wich makes it a lot more better then this game.

But still. It is fun to play.

Oh and now that i think about it...

Isn't this also likely a clone of Eufloria?

Don't know when Auralux was released, but Eufloria was from 2009

If anything, all three are Galcon clones. But then, Galcon itself is inspired by some games from the 1980s, so the genre goes back a ways. Personally, I wouldn't say any are clones. They do share the basic common element of Galactic Conquest - capturing bases that manufacture units at a constant rate - but where each of them goes from there differs substantially.

I like the game overall, but it needs some balancing. Most maps I can get through ok, maybe with a couple restarts to get my strategy down. But then there are a couple that are just impossible - an exercise in frustration. I would like to skip those, but it won't let me continue. Would be nice to have some options when you just get plain ol' stuck.
