Our internet connection is very, VERY slow, so uploading images takes ages. But here's the progress so far

Here's enhanced version of the image.
As you can see, floor uses some kind of new blocks.
It appears to be new dimension with lots of endermen, dragons and obsidian towers aswell.

This is texture found in 1.9's .jar - sky in new dimension uses it.

Here's the lighter-cobblestone texture found in 1.9pr3 terrain.png and yellow block in new dimension will most likely replace it.

You are a prick if you think Notch never listens. The entire adventure update and tons of past ones were him listening.
Nope, wake up, it was just a reaction to Terraria that resulted way batter than minecraft even if only in 2d, so what made notch move his *** is just the genuine market competition. ;)
Notch doesn't listen, should I remind you for example the soft lighting? Almost everyone was using the mod for the soft shadows but notch said simply that he doesn't like it and will not even consider it for the stock game. The one who made it real was Jeb, he constantly listened to community and tried to improve minecraft including the best and most popular mods, notch is always gone to the opposite way, it's just in the last period that he does what he should have done from the start.
Notch wanted to add adventure for a long time but said in the beginning that he wants to focus on building. He was inspired by Terraria to add elements of adventure to it. Not to mention, Notch has been doing what idiots like you wanted ever since he released the alpha. Get off your high horse and get over your self.

It's fun to see people using offense and bad words when they are out of arguments and proved wrong. :P
I'm not sure why hes getting downvoted, hes entirely right. All notch has done since 1.8 is rush to pack in commonly requested features I've seen since 13 months ago. This is to satisfy a greater variety of people, thus netting him more sales. Plain and simple.
here's a few details:
there will be a new dimension called The Ender.
it will be home to Endermen and Enderdragons.
it will use the new Air Portal Frame/Crystal Blocks to make a portal (we think)
The Ender may use the Sky Dimension terrain generator.
The Ender... FTW!
i hope it gets a different texture
notch said that it will get an epic texture so don't wory, this is just the standard grey texture
We all know that Notch likes Elder scrolls series and skyrim has dragons too so.... :D
