Good tutorial.
Fantastic work man.
I'm thinking of dropping source and trying to learn UDK do any of you think it is worth it. Thanks in advance to any replies.
Depends what you want to do.
If you plan to do your own game it is a good idea.
Play UT3 (Single-Player) Campaign and see what features it has, vehicles
,physics,character-controls,scripts.
UT Mapping is different and UT also uses Mutators, which are manageable mini mods, these allow to use many customisations.
I dono how it exactly works with source, but UT3 does not have steam and you need to put your game/mod some where for download and have a website/profile where you inform the users about updates and changes.
Desura!

Very helpful! Thanks.
very handy, now I totally understand it. Just one more question. Which programm is better: 3DsMax or maya?
Try blender... seriously, its great for anyone new to the game development and its free. One of the best tools I've downloaded for development in school (I'm studying for Bachelor's in Game/Simulation Programming) and it has a large number of tutorials across the web and easily found on youtube, google, etc.
You'll thank me later lol
he's right
