In a tweet, Oculus has announced the release date for Insomiac Games’ VR-exclusive game, Feral Rites. The game will be releasing for the Oculus Rift on September 13. Currently the game is exclusive to the Oculus Rift; no other VR platforms have been announced.

Feral Rites was originally revealed in April, along with another Insomniac VR-exclusive called The Unspoken. The latter title is not only exclusive to the Oculus Rift, but also requires the Oculus Touch to play.
Feral Rites does not require the Oculus Touch, but Insomniac has still been rather quiet on how the game actually plays. Oculus describes it as an “adventure-brawler”, and we know it plays from a top-down isometric perspective much like the Diablo series. In it, the player is able to transform into a feral animal and use their abilities in tandem with a combo-based combat system.
Insomniac has been one of the few triple-A studios that has commited to developing VR-exclusive games. Along with both Feral Rites and The Unspoken, Insomniac also developed the recently-released Edge of Nowhere – itself another Oculus Rift exclusive. Feral Rites will be available for purchase on the Oculus Store – no price point has yet been announced.
