Hello, this is Helghast_95 - creator of Leaden Sky.
I am very happy to present video containing gameplay footage of the newest Leaden Sky update, the update is work in progress so expect many improvements before release.
As you are about to see, now I focus primarily on atmosphere, horror, proper level design and story that will be revealed once the update is released.
I had very good reasons for all the changes I did and I don't care how much some of the kids here love to "torture muh bindits!" or want more "GOOOOREEE", my target is to create a great game, not a sandbox for psychopaths.
It's the time for me to stick to my vision of the game that you are about to see.
You can love it, you can hate it, I'll continue making MY GAME how I want.

That definetley have some "Stalker" with gorish bits vibe. Really nice. Waiting for full release

If I'm being honest your game is probably going to die if you don't focus as much on the gore. The simple truth is most people came here for the gore since it's unique unlike mostly everything else in the game. Sounds harsh but it's the truth. Sure you can make your game how you want or you could use common sense and embrace what brought people to the game in the first place.
I disagree with you, gore isn't unique to any game, new stuff I have here - absolutely is. There is a lot of interest in this demo, just look at the comments under my little video, people absolutely love it.
There is also a lot of interest from outside here, all heard is that the "game looks amazing" and people keep asking me where to download it.
I'm not going to dedicate my time to please anyone, especially people who are very disrespectful towards me.
I hope you can understand this and respect my decisions.
I like your game dude but you have to rework the aim feature since you can look far ahead of you without giving anything away to the enemy. Just my thought.
Thanks, as for the aiming, enemy AI has the exact same field of view as player, you can't shoot them where they can't shoot you. They just simply don't have superhuman reflexes and take 1-0.5 second before they start shooting to make the game fair, you can see that in 4:08 as the enemy behind box already saw you and can shoot from as far as player can.
The game would become unfair if they started reacting with superhuman reflexes and shooting instantly after getting in field of view.
Trust me, it works well, couple of people were testing this build already.
Thank You for responding, I had another question about the cover mechanics in the game. As seen in the video, the player can use boxes or other grounded objects as cover. I was wondering if there would variety to the cover mechanic such as walls or pillars. Would that be possible?
No problem, as for other cover elements I was doing some experiments with it, however it turned out too be confusing and could damage balance.
Complex cover mechanics work much better in 3D games but here it doesn't work well, there are so many elements in background that it will be hard to tell where you can hide, additionally it could create confictls with activation.
Generally I want to focus mainly on combat against various monsters which don't require cover, but I'll still do my best to make combat against humans fun with what I have currently, big part of that are some of the current and planned alt fire modes.

I really like the color tone, kinda reminds me of the dark/beautiful art style of This War of Mine, but then with a more action intense gameplay focus. Really cool! I can imagine with the whole game finished there would be some crazy difficult parts to fight through. Also, the crouch is a great addition for being able to hide!👌🏻

just saw this now game looks great keep it up and never stop no matter what thats what got me through making a game of my own well an alpha build but dont give up this looks great i will 100 percent buy this when it comes out

In general, I like the gameplay and the new functions, the work with the atmosphere is just excellent for a 2d game, keep it up, but as for me, they removed animations and dubbing of deaths in vain, it seems to me that all this can be combined and it will turn out perfectly, but it's not for me to judge.
Thanks, the disabled state was removed due to clunkiness and some immersion breaking bugs it created.
