New Vehicle coming soon!
We have just finished up some work on the player controlled helicopter for Recruits. You are able to hop into it and fly around the map and land where ever you want!
In the video below we demonstrate the flying around, controls and landing, as well as the chopper being shot down and exploding on impact. This video is just WIP and we are currently in the process of adding the following:
- Side Rocket Pods
- Right Side mounted gatling gun
- Spot light for night missions
- Extra particle effects and sounds
These updates will be done in the coming day or so and we will update the build of Recruits to include a new level and this chopper.
If you ever played Jungle Strike, or Desert Strike back in the day, you might enjoy the video of this WIP, and there is more to come!

Recruits for a chopper game
DOES NOT COMPUTE!
Opps, my mistake :)
Great improvements so far since the game came out months ago. Honestly, I haven't played the recent builds but judging from the video, I have some suggestions aside from a dude on Youtube:
- The trees and bushes around the chopper do not react to the wind from the rotors.
- In real life, a chopper while flying will often lowers its head to the front. Well, you know what I mean: Youtube.com
I am not hoping that you would improve the chopper element that much because on top of all, gameplay is what matters. Keep up the good work, guys.
We have added a bit more lean to the chopper to make it more obvious.
In the video it does lean forward a bit, but it might be hard to see on certain angles and from a top down perspective.
Also with the trees moving, we can totally do this, but our main focus is the on ground gameplay, and all of the trees moving might take up to many resources so, its on the side lines for now. Hopefully soon we can do it if we get some more time. Thanks for checking out the video!
Actually, with the presence of a swash plate, the rotors can do the lean, rather than the airframe.
awesome love to see some air unit :)
Hmm the chopper is good but i was thinking a slower startup and add weapons to it like missiles
Better stay at the edge of your seat! ;)
