Haunted was a great mod. I loved the weapons. It became quite repetitive, though and I hope the new version offers more variety. Congratulations, if you have some time, maybe write an article about how you made it from MSUC to commercial game. Especially, how pitches to the producers look, would be interesting to know.

This...is the same as the mod...for 20$. I already played it...and it's the same as the mod. I had to actually try very hard to spot the differences.

Oh look, the typical 'I don't know enough about game development to appreciate what was put into this project and therefore find it worthless, and so should you' argument from Kilbride.
It's hugely improved from the mod. They've added a completely new front end & server browser, improved all of the special effects and player models, added new maps, new weapons, dozens of melee combos, a boss fight .... at what point are you gonna acknowledge they worked hard?

Doesn't stop it from being nearly the same thing as the mod was. They could have just worked on the mod more, or made a completely unique, better IP instead of wasting their talent on just 'refurbishing' their mod for a commercial release.

isn't worth twenty bucks *to you*. To me, twenty bucks is a small price to pay for the hours of fun I've had playing both the mod, and the retail version of their game.
There seems to be this bizarre opinion around this site that the time people put into modding is 'off the clock' so to speak, and that they aren't entitled to any compensation for their work.
When I look at a game like the haunted, I don't just see the time that went into 'refurbishing' , as you say, but also the what must have been hundreds if not thousands of man hours that went into the original mod's production.
So i'll ask you this - if you won't / can't acknowledge the work people do on mods, why are you hanging around a modding website?
You're putting words into my mouth now. Don't do that. Stop making unnecessary assumptions without any evidence. :)
The Haunted is an awesome game. Fast paced, great looking, gory and for low budget, indie title, has hours upon hours of replayability. The devs are also listening to feedback and various suggestions by the community are being taken on board.
I've yet to indulge in any of the other modes on offer. That fire bastard needs to die! Congrats and thanks go to KTX for an awesome game.

Will I have to buy 6 copies of Hells Reach to do LAN parties at home? or can I purchase one and activate it on each machine for some offline gaming?
Congrats on the release! Although I'd love to see an objective mode, the wave based gameplay is still addicting as HELL
right now it's not far from what the original mod was... and too little content in it. Not that I feel sorry for pre-purchased it... but actually I'm looking forward for future updates.
Really? I was hoping there would be a campaign mode with missions or objectives too....
I was also hoping for more than 4 players.
But I know the visuals are top-notch, new minions, new weapons and new ways to kill everything...
Yay! Its available at a bunch of DD sites! Oh wait, they all force you to use Steam.
