After many hours of sorting through a stunning array of entries, the time has come to announce the winners of the #MAKEITSUPERHOT competition as decided by Mod DB, IMGN.PRO and the SUPERHOT team. Before we go into the winners of the competition, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the event a resounding success whether you submitted an entry, were keen to test other entries or helped spread the word! We were fortunate to get many great sponsors on-board to support the competition with some kick-ass prizes to reward you, the community for making this event SUPERHOT.
Sifting through the entries, it became evident there were many great submissions and it was quite a challenge to narrow them down to the top 3 in each category. We highly recommend you explore them all as so many submissions are worthy of a prize - but at the end of the day we had to slowly and methodically lock in our picks. Without further adieu, here are our #MAKEITSUPERHOT winners:

A huge congratulations to all of our winners who will be contacted shortly regarding their prizes. Massive thanks to all sponsors that came together to support this competition and provide the bounty that these winners will soon receive.
We have also noticed that despite the deadline of the competition coming and going it's fantastic to see that many entries are still being actively developed and supported by our great community. That's all from us for now, once again thank you to everyone who participated in the competition - we were blown away by the amount of entries and support the event received from the community! Stay tuned as we intend to run similar competitions in the near future!
No superhook :/
Congratulation to all winners. For me I really like SUPERHOT 8bit.
Thanks ;)
Congratulations everyone! It was really fun making KEANUWARE, and it's been a wild ride from first hearing about the contest up to its heart-pounding conclusion! Everyone worked hard, and it certainly shows with an Honorable Mentions section looking as professional as it does.
I'm surprised One Strike is not here. It looked pretty ambitious. If anything is deserving of the contract its that one to be honest, though I'm no judge so what can I say. I really would like to see the One Strike guys continue on their project more than anything. You guys certainly scared me when I saw your submission, hahaha.
Lyall, you better buy the world greatest pizza with that dough. Pizza did you a solid. I know you pulled your end of the deal but hear me out. There is literally no better reason or opportunity to travel the world and eat world-class pizza pies than this. Don't even bring anyone with you (except for me).
Me too. I thought One strike and Overheat will be at list.
Hi Codybean1, thank you very much for the kind words! We are definitely feeling not making honorable but our team fully plans to continue production molding OneStrike into a publishable title in the near future. Congrats to everyone that won and also a shout out to all the participants that worked hard towards something they loved.
We will continue to make updates to our OneStrike development via modDB as well as our Facebook and Twitter @ONESTRIKEVR if anyone wishes to follow us for more!
Thank you again for the kind words and congrats on making honorable!
Yeeeep! Looks like I'll be in debt to pizza for a while now and I owe a lot of people a LOT of good pizza! ;)
Great job on your efforts, everyone!
Congratulations to the winners, and great job to everyone who participated - there were some great submissions, and I don't envy the judges position of having to choose between them all!
I think mods and addons should have been made into a seperate category
welll!!!! eh good work every ones !!!!!
super hot! super ! hoooot!
Not a single mod winning anything, that's totally unexpected. At least we've made it into Honorable Mentions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I guess devs just didn't expect so many entries xD
Congrats guys! Well deserved!
Only thing that I don't understand - why mods were in the same category with games? I mean, hell, we all love mods, we use them, we make them, but well-made game will always win over well-made mod.
same with pictures and videos
(thats why the first one is REAAAAALLLY awsome to win over 2 videos)
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. When we started the comp it was inspired by SUPERQOT and we just never expected it to reach the scale it did. Had we known we likely would have discussed expanding.
Asked for superhot inspired games.
2 of the winners are superhot clones.
Instructions were too unclear, should've told us to make clones.
Peer2Pizza's a very unique game, but is it's pizza launching gameplay really so enjoyable for it to be at the first place? It's a casual puzzle that only 2/10 people will have fun with. I agree with it winning, but it's sad to see it on the first place, it's like these piles of other good games/mods didn't even exist.
Superhotnotreally8bitatallbecauseicanseetheusageof32bitfloatingpointvalueseverywhereonthescreen, Teroil's uberhot...... i just can't imagine how both of these games can be better than SUPERTRUCK, both of @Albatr's games(SHOOTOUT, superhotlinemiami), Trepang2, uHOT, Superhook(even though i saw lots of flaws in it), or Retrohot (as an example of something art-ish). Just can't, in any way, except them looking more like superhot.. is that even a good thing? SH's silence ruined most of enjoyment of it, for example.
(Admoons, i can't even poke albatr, as his name is something a lot of others begin with, plsfixaddscrolling)
Teroil, you were probably the one expecting this the least, lol. Congrats though, hoping that you learned a lot from your game, and goodluck in the future.
Saddened that some german dude singing about something i don't understand took away some amazing artist's place.
The title sequence vid is hilariously awesome.
By the way, judges, it would be really interesting to see where how far you guys got in my game. It's a bit hilarious, as i pass it with no problems at all, but everyone else thinks it's impossible to beat. lol. is it 15 years of playing quake III arena? :D
Also, +1 to everyone saying that mods shouldn't be in the same category with games.
Alsoalso, XanT, INtense!, will there be no special prize, or is it just delayed?
Special prize is up to IMGNPRO, if they do decide to publish a winner we shall update it here. And it sounds like you've played a lot of the entries, the winners are all ultra polished, we were unanimous in Peer2Pizza and it's rather unique.

Congratulations to the winners and everyone else who participated! You did an amazing job :)
Whoops, forgot to sign in...
What did you think of Incredibly Warm? Do you think I should continue working on it?
Indiedb.com
Time moves only if you move: There should be a description that youwant superhot clones in a different setting/genre or something which has absolutrly nothing to do with it^^
2 Clones , 1 which has nearly no inspiration.
However, i liked the fact that it was not a community voting :)
There's not even a single project in honorable mentions that doesn't just bluntly copy SH's time mechanic without trying to alter it. INtense!, srsly what is this, did you guys fail on the description, or shteam suddenly was like "screw originality"?
It looks a lot like if trepang2, time recoil, shiro, onestrike and overheat were all thrown in the trash can suddenly for trying to stand out.
Were really all of these games worse than couch tanks & visual demos?
Peer2Pizza is very unique, I'm confused do you not believe that to be the case?
I'm only talking about time mechanics here. There are no winners nor honorable mentioned games that didn't copy "time only moves when you move" rule, which is at least weird, because some were very nicely made. Maybe shteam wanted every game to copy sh's time mechanic without trying to come up with something similiar, and no one told us about it?
Sad, gg wp and congrats.
How did that awesome glow in the dark painting not get a mention? It was amazing.
come on , some good games didn't even get mentioned like SUPERHOT HACKED AND DECEASED i mean I know that I made the game and I know it wasn't good it's really sad to see the clones win and not the innovative ones stuff like my game and SUPER HOOK deserve to be at least mentioned any way can someone give me their opinion on my game
Im sad, but congratulations to winners.
I enjoyed this event as developer and player.
"Everyone who enters wins a copy of SUPERHOT on Steam."
Well, how about that?
We are going to start contacting all the participants, so look out for a private message on the site in the next week as we work our way through the list.
Considering the amount of good entries, I guess whatever choices were made, it'd be a bit unfair at least. But indeed, the fact that the top 3 were Games and not Mods was really unfortunate!
Anyway, I knew I didn't have a chance at winning top 3, but I really appreciate the chance and the whole experience. Besides the modding itself, it was a nice chance to visit an existing game, and try to extract its essence, while also observing what made it unique. Was a very nice experience, that certainly affected me on how I see games from now on.
Even though ultimately I'd consider SUPERHOT an average game, its design choices were really amazing, and really taught me a thing or two, so that's where my praise for it stands on!
Congrats to everyone! Tough competition for sure, so I know I just have to keep at it and hone my skills. I don't know if anyone else on here tried my ping pong game SUPERSPIN, if so I would love feedback on what I have so far, as I start to get it onto unity and take out the SUPERHOT references.
congratulations to all the winners, really glad superhot 8 bit made it into this list. but the lack of any mods in the top 3 is really strange, did the team have problems aquiring the original games and modding them ? I expected modernhot to be more than just an honorable mention
It's been about 10 hours since I found out that ÜberHot had placed second and it still seems unreal. I was at my workplace at the time and believe me that was the longest 8 and a half hour wait I've ever had to go through. Afterwards I celebrated with an energydrink and a panini sandwich.
I really can't express my gratitude enough towards the people who supported me and played the game, it's a huge achievement for me to make a game that succeeded so well! I'm looking forward to seeing the notes you had of ÜberHot. I really hope you guys recorded playing through all the games too, that would be incredibly fun to watch as you seemed to have a good time! :)
And the prizes are incredible, the cpu could've not come in a better time since I was just about to upgrade my old one! Also now I can at least afford some real sound effects for my games cx
Congratulations to everyone involved, I have to play those top-3 games as soon as I finish writing this!
I think that you've mentioned that evryone who enters gets a free copy of SUPERHOT. Is that true?
Hey! I'm a bit late to the party here - had a bit of a hectic day!
Congrats to everyone that entered though, there was a crazy amount of entrants and loads of great stuff!
Still in disbelief that my silly game about throwing digital pizza placed 1st but I'm super, super grateful! (Seriously though... pizza?!) I know the game is rough around the edges and there's still a lot of work to be done, but I hope the folks that played it had fun and scored some awesome deliveries! Once things have settled, I should be firing back into development and taking this digital pizza delivery thing further (uh oh!!)
But again, congrats to everyone that entered and thanks to everyone that brought this all together - it's been fun! <3
What about the first 50 approved entries automatically getting SUPERHOT swag?
Maybe next week. They are working on it.
Yep working through that now. Will be aiming to collect contact details next week
Not that I want to hurry you or anything, but any update on that?
.
INtense!I think that a week already passed. When we will get the superhot copies?
Yeah, I want one too.
We have received some of the keys for the top 50 winners we are just awaiting the rest so we can distribute them all at once :) We haven't forgotten about this so don't stress.
Just got the copies - XanT is contacting people now about prizing
I think it's finally timer to distribute keys, don't you think INtense1!?
They have already been distributed, what are you talking about?
O_o I haven't got it yet... This is strange.
