This week I continued to work on the Tribehome - specifically the tiles that will make up the village.

So this week I continued to work on the Tribehome.

Similar to the other procedural maps, the village is composed of tiles which are placed randomly and then filled in with buildings – although I haven’t worked on that part just yet. The actual village will grow out gradually as you unite the Shattered Tribes, so each tile will appear at different parts during your adventure.

What I did work on this week, however, are the actual tiles that will comprise the village, so let’s take a look at a few. Also note that these are still in progress and will eventually include villagers.

clanHall

The Clanhall is one of the earlier buildings to crop-up – a longhouse for the tribes to live in.

beerGarden

Beer, mead, and meat can be had at the outdoor tavern.

homestead

One of the various houses that villagers will live in. This particular one has a small field next to it with crops. The crop can be of different types.

pasture

Another place to get food from – the pasture is where cows are kept. They come in three colours and are randomly selected.

barracks

And finally the training area. This will have armed guards in it, and perhaps in the future will offer a way for the player to increase their skill by paying for training.

So that’s about it for this week. Next week I’ll be working on putting the village together, and after that, populating it with some villagers.
