Although combat still needs a polish pass, it's closing in on being finished. The game features several features to keep the combat engaging while Keena journeys across the sea in order to defeat the agents of Corruption.
With that done, the game is another big step closer to the alpha build, with the next big task being implementing the script and dialogue into the game. Which should take a few months, but after that the list whittles down to just getting a few minigames working and finishing the last few bosses.

With testing done, and feedback gathered, I've got like 30 listed items to tweak and change for combat, compared to my first game, this has been a monumental challenge and the combat has been in a constant state of change since the early days of the game's development, back when it was a simple twin stick shooter with no abilities.

Keena can now learn roughly 12 spells, 8 abilities, and equip a large array of items to tailor the experience to different types of players. I've also got great feedback on how I need to make the game easier for the 'story' difficulty, so players who want a more chill experience won't be decimated by the game's enemies, who are quite dangerous at the moment.

I won't know until the alpha, but the game feels like it might be roughly 15 hours long. Just based on the number of areas, enemies, bosses, and challenges. Making it about 5 times longer than my first game, and compared to the first prototype (about an hour) is much closer to what I'm aiming for. Ideally we can get around 20 by the time we hit the beta, with the possibility of a NG+ mode, but that's still up in the air.
