I keep rediscovering the magic of animated gifs. It really is one of the best ways to show off a little something in your game.
To make this I record game footage using Fraps and then put it through VirtualDub with a few filters, convert the framerate to 20fps to reduce file size and export as a infinitely looping gif. Pretty much the easiest way to do it I've found!

Hey, you might want to try GifCam for making simple gifs. I use it myself and find it quite easy (hit record, hit stop, and save :))
Modern browsers should also support MJPEG (Motion JPEG) - which will get you better looking animated images for the same filesize.
