Hello everybody, long time to see right?
Well, those of you that follow us on Twitter, Facebook[www.facebook.com] or on our Discord channel[discord.gg] are probably up to date, but it's time to bring the whole set of news to our Steam crowd as well!
So, we do begin with the new beta, cause that's the big gun we bring out here!
EiR Beta v0.85.1
It includes a lot of fixes, 4 new maps (for a total of 5 battle maps), several visual updates and a taste of the first 4 battle of the campaign. And, with the next beta, not too far away, you will be finally able to also try the 4X component of the game!
Ok, this was the first one. Go and download it, we would really really appreciate some feedback on what we are doing and what you like and what not!
Then, next one. WE ARE GOING TO EGX REZZED!!!
So yes, if you are visiting Rezzed in April, make sure you come and visit us!!
What else. Ah well, we have a new illustrator in the team, Giulia, and she is working like crazy to get the intro cutscene remade! And know what? We love the results we're getting!!!
(By the way, do you recognize Heimer's voice? )
So, for now that's it, see you soon around guys, don't hesitate to write us!!
Cheers,
Dr.H, Lead Designer, Developer H&R
Since it's tagged as a Linux game on Indie DB, what's happening with Linux support? Beta is Windows only, Steam only mentions Windows too?
Yep, you're right. At the moment the whole work is being brought on on Windows only, we didn't cancel the plans for Linux and Mac, but until we are done with the full gameplay, it's too much additional work to constantly test on more platforms. The idea is to jump onto that post windows release. If you're interested, I can try and make a linux build and link it here, but as i currently have no linux machine running, it would be a blind testing unfortunately.
I actually own and run Gamingonlinux.com so I would be more than happy to be your guinea pig
Awesome! I just started building now, if all goes smoothly (you never knoew), I will link you the build in a short while!
This is the single most untested test I ever run on this game, but here you go ;) I have no idea if it works, most probably no (I spent my share of years on linux during the PhD :D ), but that's the first step I guess!

Quite a few issues found. The mouse cursor is absolutely massive and moving it causes flickering.
Seems it had a few issues in fullscreen too, better in windowed.
Was able to get into a game but the water was pink, heh.
Eheh, well it did still fare much better than the Mac version we tried not so long ago (that didn't even start). And I did expect this test to probably go even worse.
The pink water is somehow one of the issues I expected the most (shaders-related), as for the cursor may I ask what resolution you were playing in?
Most definitely the moment we decide to release for linux officially, I need to setup a machine for testing here, but the fact that it did start and apparently semi-work, is quite a decent start. (positive thinking eheh )
Was the game playable beside the visual issues above, I mean, were enemy spawned, was possible to build, etc?
It's difficult due to the massive mouse, it's not clear when the actual point is on it (as the point itself is invisible due to the messed up size). However, I stuck with it and yes I can build stuff and enemies did spawn.
The fact that the base engine works is a big plus, I can image it's not really playable this way, but it's promising. Heed my words, I can't say yet when, but I promise there will be a working Linux version.
Awesome, let me know whenever you want a new build tested, direct email here: Gamingonlinux.com
Will do, thanks for the test mate!
