I love turning up my lightmaps to one before an important screenshot and people get blown away by it, not realizing source can do it. :) Nice tut though!
I never really knew much about lightmaps this tutorial really helped me :D
I really enjoyed watching this. I got a little too prideful in my mapping ability, and never knew this. Great job.
Glad you guys learned something! :)
Thanks!
love you guy.. best tutorial series ever :)
Source can do anything, but its up to you what you make
Well, I think you can't make two monitors showing different things at the same time, right?
I'm sure if you played around with the code enough you could make it work
Great tutorial!
Quick question but does lightmapping affect fps in anyway?
As mentioned in the tutorial it has little to no effect on rendering cost since they are pre-calculated.
I think it's really cool how you can crank up the lightmap detail without an fps loss. That means if the mapmaker is patient enough their map can look amazing and still run great
