We have released a CryEngine 3 final Demo almost 3 years ago. Since that time this game didn't have any attention from its fans. The whole PR campaign was subtle. We didn't get any support from Appeal. Looks like everyone didn't care about released Demo. So I decided to do make a little remainder for people who could've accidentally missed the release. You see, we have removed the "Outcast" word from the title. This could be one of the reasons.
Right now the project is dormant. But I hope some day it will be in active development again.
Indeed, the website was dead since a long time. It belonged to one of the key team members, but unfortunately he left the team and abandoned the website support few years ago. Most of the team members have given up. Only three people left in team, and so we pushed the project to the release on our own. Three years of work. The milestone was done, and we hoped for further development with new team on a newer engine. We went on Steam Greenlight, but Appeal put a dampers on it. It's a sad story.
Try the new CryEngine 3 Demo, it's polished and it's totally playable.
I hope you really return to it, even tho I think you guys made a bad decision. Why stop, because "fans didn't give attention to it", a demo, even one has good has yours, is hardly enough to gain a big following but a full game is, if you guys stayed strong and made the full game regardless, i'm pretty sure the fans would come in droves. That IMO, is really how games work. This unless you are a big known developer, with a impressive track record. A small team like yours, making their first game, should have never expected a huge following based only a good looking demo, imagine if Frictional Games did the same, when they made their Penumbra demo, it was not the demo that made them famous and rich. And man, you guys should have expected that making a game based on a old IP, that was pretty unknown to the new generation of gamers, would not amass a huge following initially. I'm really sad you guys decided to put the game on hold.
Not quite following you here, how'd you imagine making a FULL game, when a team has not enough resources to make even a Demo within reasonable time? But you missed a point, we didn't stop "because no attention". We stopped because
a) key members left the team (because of engine issues and their own life problems) and
b) because new IP owners interfered with us.
I can't help here, we've managed to finish and release a Demo that was planned to be released in 2014. A challenge, designed for 10 people instead of 3. It could've been worse if last of us gave up: there wouldn’t be a Demo at all, nothing but a lost progress of 10 years.
Is this still being worked on? I've not seen a update from this mod for ages before this.

I also thought OpenOutcast was dead. I even checked Your Website and thought it was dead. But I cannot tell which year it was.
