so, not only does it delete the world, but it makes you throw the switch to delete it?
sorta sadistic in a creative-crushing way. it's like forcing a little kid to agree to let their dad kick their lego over, without giving them any choice in the matter.
That's why I always back-up my worlds :P in
appdata%/roaming/.minecraft/saves you just copy/paste the folder out then play as much as you want without worrying, but in case you mess up (die in hardcore or blow up your house) just replace the folder with the one you've saved, tadaaaa ! =D
Yeah, but because Hardcore mode is optional than if your playing it, your doing so with the knowledge you're going to die, otherwise it's not really hardcore...
My point exactly; why in the ****ing world would you play *Hardcore mode* if you you're already planning on 'cheating' the system that actually makes it hardcore?
not that I'm insinuating that about anyone here, least of all the person I replied to. in case that's what the -karma is. but I know a few knowledgeable noobs (do the even exist?) will do this for that exact reason.
like rule34, but for stupid reason. if there's a stupid reason to be made, it will be made.
I agree with some people here. Why the f*ck would you choose to play Hardcore mode if you have no intentions on deleting the world upon death? Just play the regular mode then.
If people don't like the way this mode is then don't play it cause to me it's like playing a Dungeon Crawler rouge like sorta like Stone Soup once you die in it your forced to start all over with a randomly generated dungeon.
I like this idea more cause if you've become good at dealing with the monsters and explore allot of ground the world data size can be well over 10mb or higher, I remember back in 1.7 I had a world data file size of 56.8mb cause i've been exploring alot of ground.

more like the dad making the kid kick his own legos.
Deal with it. You choose the mode
i H8 when peope kick my legos! I WASTED SO MANY HOURS IN KINDERGARTEN FROM JERKS WHO H8 LEGOS!!!!
I concur. Legos were a staple in my childhood.
Hmm, what happens if you just Alt+F4 at that screen?
potentially, you can change settings so you're alive again. just using NBTedit and Invedit.
The game will close and save, so when you load the save again you'll still have to delete it.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of hardcore mode?
will go back to death stage with "delete world". I tried that but with "respawn" instead.
simply edit the level.DAT with NBTedit, and you can "revive" yourself.

to make your ego bigger to others. if you make a massive build in hardcore on hard, but don't tell them about the deaths, then you impress them.

Hey look, he has a score of 5! He just beat the previous world record at '&e0'!
Close window...
Wouldn't work.
could you ctrl alt delete to get out of that?
super hardcore makes your account not premium....
I saw someone made shopped picture on that. I'd post link but im too lazy.
So you can cry before deleting your world? I thought it will delete itself automaticly.
i dont see why would you try to get around this because its hardcore mode and you dont have to play with it.
Too true, there.
Notch is creating psychos with the hardcore mode.
thats just cruel. now you get the feeling of destroying a world by clicking something lol
Bon sang. Ca c'est un écran de game-over. Half-Quake ?
savescuming?
Hehe, that's evil it forces you to destroy your own map...sad day.

good bye diamonds?

You have the choice of playing Hardcore or Regular, choose wisely. :P

Just by putting an exclamation mark in the end instead of a dot, makes it look like "You cannot respawn in hardcore mode, sucker!"
