Survivors of Ragnarök is a city-building-management-survival game inspired by Dwarf Fortress. Manage, create, and survive through dynamic and deadly worlds. Losing is a fundamental core aspect of design.
It's going to make everyone who plays (or played) Dwarf Fortress smile to hear a homage like this. That is if they don't feel like if nobody is ever allowed to alter their game in any way or take inspiration from it. Just like how people reacted to Terraria which has if nothing else, the same perspective as SoR and was called a 2D Minecraft ripoff front, back and center.
Hopefully people here are a bit more lenient and see that respecting and taking inspiration from a game you enjoy doesn't mean you stole the idea. I certainly do. (that means I don't think you stole it)
Yeah, that was exactly, even in my words, what i think when i start to compose it :)
And as you see in future, that's just for a homage. SoR's OST will be unique, you can be sure for that :D
The transition from the starting homage to the rest of the song is pretty jarring, as they are in totally different styles. Not sure if that was intended or not.
Yes. Well Done
This starts off almost the same way as Dwarf Fortress does, but goes way, way further so I'll say good job to it.
Yeah it's no secret where we get a lot of our inspiration from... That beginning was done purposefully to pay homage to Dwarf Fortress.
