Even in its early days, Althas has been a land shaken by conflicts. In the early days, these conflicts pitted the Anointed Kingdoms of Men against the dark and demonic forces that threatened them. However, with the passage of time the world has changed. With the Anointed order eroding away and new powers rising, another war looms on the horizon, a war brought on by Man's own actions. Thenodar, a burgeoning new kingdom in the North, and Anorthile, one of the last of the three remaining Anointed Kingdoms, now prepare for a war that will shake all of Althas. Old demons and new enemies gather in the shadows of both lands as each sets their sights on the ruined wilderness known as the Feralands.
A quiet street in Cunnian under the mid-morning sun.
looking very nice.
So does your hat. :P
But really, thank you all.
Very Nice!
Reminds me a lot of Skingrad from Oblivion.
That or Cheydinhal.
Dammit, now I want to play it again lol
Anyway, looks great.
On a side note, will the house interiors be separate worldspaces like in the TES series?
The interiors will be right there in the same world. The windows even work properly ;)
Can you open actual windows too?
That'd bring stealth to a wohle new level!
Quite possibly, and it certainly would.
That's what I dreamed of.
And a proper climbing mechanic?
...please?
Wait actually? Since that will be awesome! I can't even think of a game that doesn't fake the windows in some way right off the top of my head.
WOW! I love the contracts board and the stones. Also I guess this is in game?
Just saw this on the forum's chatroom, nice job. You guys are making a lot of headway.
Nice work guys!
Awesome work guys
I'm very excited for this game
Nice work guys!! Looking forward to more images :D
That's an interesting tower way up in the distance. I wonder what it is.
Kinda looks like weathertop.
I concur.
Looks great :D I just hope the towns feel more populated than those in Oblivion
Or Skyrim. Most of the so called "cities" in Skyrim only had a few people in them and most the of the population was made of guards/soldiers.
Well that is a sort of compromise you have to make. You can either have fewer npcs but have them be somewhat intelligent with routines and dialogue or you can have huge masses of brain-dead npcs (more like Assassin's Creed). We want to try and strike a balance to have good sized crowds but still plenty of intelligent npcs to maintain immersion.
Well, whatever you come up with I'm sure it will be good. On a side note could you answer a question for me; what is that tower/ruin in the far background in the image? Thanks and all the best in your game creating endevours.
I think...it is a model that our level designer who put together this scene left in by accident :P .
<_< >_> I did nothing of the sort...
"The Kicking Mule"?^^
You guys should make a suggestion thread for tavern names.
I demand "The Drunken Dragon Inn" for nostalgia reasons. :)
I think the kicking mule was based on the prancing pony...
Damn, now I feel like an idiot for not noticing that.
Actually, that is a pretty standard naming convention for Inns and Taverns. Though we could potentially slide a certain reference in as a name ;)
The screenshot of the city street looks very promising. Lot's of potential here.
The models look very nice and the architecture is great (lots of variation). The street does look very lifeless however. The whole road is perfectly maintained and seems fairly artificial and there are no unique details that stick out, but that can be fixed fairly easily with some shrubs and rubble.
Looking good, very pumped for this.
Well there are a few bits of clutter, but the road itself was made with the road tool so it is pretty fast and basic. The focus of this demonstration shot was the buildings after all ;)
This is looking great, keep up the good work guys!
Fellas are cruzin!
