Hello rosenkreutzc. Don't worry about the mod. We are very active on this project. I understand your preoccupation regarding the launch of the game. We are working hard on the update for the SOMA engine and some intern tests have already being done to test the new mechanics of the game.
The game is not following a rigid planning of production and development. Amnesia: Fear in Hands is a mod based on a very small production team and we are not pushing ourselves to deliver the game the fastest as possible (as some developers choose to do and end up needing to cancel the game).
About the movie, it will be released together with the game. We have decided not to launch it on YouTube or ModDB but to make it available as an extra to the game .rar file.
There is no problem in being curious! We will have a lot to share it soon (that's why we have been keeping so much secrets recently).
It could be awesome if you could spare the maps and files for us to continue the mod from where you left.

It depends of how far your ambition goes. How large is your team or the team you're working on. How large is your game and how much stuff you have to take care of during the development process... Triple A games takes basically the same time to make as indie games because its relatively proportional in terms of general quality, game length and number of features. Yeah... I advise you to prepare your patience, really. HAHA
Everyone envolved in this industry sooner or later realizes that to make a good game its required time, patience and a lot of focus. We aim to release a finished mod, bugless and with all the features that we've promised.

Don't worry DnALANGE, we are putting our maximum effort into this, to make it really happen. We are not dealing with any type of great marketing campaigns right now because it's a very decisive period of the development process of this mod. SOMA's custom stories are new and most people are still learning with the newest Frictional's engine.
We promise that soon enough we will be updating this page with the latest images, latest info and more cool stuff for all of you guys. We really appreciate all the patience and support ;)
All the third party devs that were working with us on this game have finished their roles inside the game development. Now it's just us giving our hardest to make it happen haha!

We are working our best to release both the game and a demo in 2016. We were trying to explain to you guys that our plans haven't changed and everything is going pretty well regarding the development of the game.
Man, do not worry! Take your time! I'm anxious to play your game. There still are a lot of people that loves Amnesia custom story. I'm surprised that Amnesia's CS still are more popular than SOMA's CS. I'm currently developing a Soma Custom Story that will merge both universes (Amnesia and Soma), taking place 90 years after Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. I personally can't wait to see what will be coming from you in the next months!

Not exactly. The demo doesn't have an official release date yet. Q1 2016 is the release date of the small short-movie inspired by Amnesia: Fear in Hands, called Spring of the Universe.
For Amnesia: Fear in Hands, this wasn't a really big problem. The version of the game that we've made with HPL 2.0 barely had that many notes. Daryon is a detective and he truly does have a journal, but he loses it during his journey into the game (I'm not going to spoil how). Since the journal was the only thing he got left of his life before the amnesia, he will need to hunt down these pages to discover what is happening to his life. You won't have to hold these pages because the character will be trying to remember it himself all the time.
That's another thing we are rethinking for the SOMA remake of the game. The page textures will have much more life than it was with the Amnesia series (only text). You will see the desperation of the character when you read the lines he wrote back in that time.
We are really sorry for not talking much about the game lately but we have realised that the game is getting so much hype and, as we've said a lot of times, we don't want to dissapoint anyone. So we are focusing more in doing what we're promising instead of showing more about our creation.
2016 is close, so do not worry! We won't take much longer.

DnALANGE, this was supposed to be an Amnesia: The Dark Descent custom story, but we are working now to update all the content that we have created to its newest engine, HPL3. We are not publishing so many updates because we don't want to spoil any surprises yet. You shall be knowing more from us in a short time so do not worry about it.
