The layout of the map is brilliant, they overdid some of the bumps but overall it is a great level. Easy to get lost in. I've spent hours in it and I still haven't got it all mapped out in my head.
Brilliant, David, beauty in motion.
Coming from you I know it will be quality work of the highest degree.
I'm more excited about this than Lost Alpha, (thanks to NS DMX ENGMOD, that part is covered).
Cheers for the kind words but this is not comparable with LA. That's on a completely different level, Professional work, that's way beyond what I'm capable of. LA is going to be a total transformation to SOC mods like DMX aswell. And from the sort of work there doing and changes there doing to the x-ray it could be the fourth installment in the series not just a mod. Plus tweaks like multi core use could possibly eliminate the switch distance stutter Stalker suffers from.
I just got permission to use the OWR weapons mod with this now so I'm gonna spend the next few weeks adding them in.
I don't know enough to give you reliable info but apparently they've been given access to the source code for the engine which has allowed them to modernise it in different ways to how it was done for CS (x-ray 1.5) and COP (x-ray 1.6). LA has the potential and the means to be something really special. It also has a group of top modders working on it who between them are capable of doing just that.
It sounds pretty good, I've got it but not tried it yet, I've been following a few people that have been posting at GSC and grabbing copies of the fixes they've needed as there playing through it so when I do play it I've got all the errors sorted. There has only been 2 or 3 mentioned so far. Which is good for a NS based mod, We all know how poor Stalkersoup has been for reliability, I've tried to use it a few times now and I always seem to get so many hours in and then it becomes a crash fest. There's now another similar but different version at GSC put together by Achilles Dave that sounds okay too, I've got that saved for a rainy day aswell. (I just got a 2tb drive to add to my pc as I was running out of space)
I FINALLY got the full HUD working by editing the user itx. file. It's actually running on full dynamic, (which is required for the HUD to properly work), at 1366x768 resolution at 60fps which is astounding since my little lappy can't run vanilla Stalker at those settings! Incredibly optimized mod. (I did have to use default shaders, but it is still a beautiful sight. The ground is littered with anomalies and artifacts which makes the Zone really feel like an alien world, which is what I love. And the weapons. Mother Mary Of God, I have never seen such a variety of weapons in a Stalker game. I finally got my hands on a Mosin Nagant, whoa!)
A few short clips from inside a new laboratory map that was specially made for the map pack I'm using in Strelok's story. The lab itself is a lot larger than it seems from what you see in the clip, It's like a maze.
That was awesome. The shaders look awesome in this level.

Don't the NS mods like DMX restore all the original locations/quests like LA does?
If so, what makes LA so different?

Gotcha. I'm just glad I'm finally playing the fabled Narodnaya Solyanka mod.
Did I mention this mod is incredibly stable?

It really really really reminds me of Metro 2033/Last Light
There family, Metro and Stalker share the same DNA.
Damn, what kind of a magazine do you HAVE in that gun!?
?? I'm lost
