Some kind of unstable tiberium?
Some kind of unstable tiberium?
Sorry, I found the dialogue in the first mission repellant. As someone who likes to consider the political landscapes within GDI and Nod, it strikes me as lacking nuance and conveniently disregarding, or ignorant of aspects contradictory to the lore. I'm not saying I have the right answers but GDI stating "You will not take us alive!" and "It is time for us to destroy the first world nations!" or whatever from Nod aren't only out of character but severe misunderstandings of their situations.
While technically accurate as a statement, as I had no intention of taking prisoners, and lack the game mechanics to do so, some GDI trooper is not going likely going to tell me my only options result in his death, GDI aren't in a position of desperation like in the Firestorm Crisis.
Nod appeals to the globally disenfranchised for manpower, yes, but they also enjoy wealthy private backing through the distribution of tiberium technology. The first secret of Tiberium unlocked by the brotherhood was extracting rare minerals from it.
Kane's ultimate motive is that shown in C&C 3 and 4, and while I doubt the rank and file of the Brotherhood would know or even understand why they want that same outcome, I'd hope the campaign would reflect it, except, your Nod campaign is about killing Kane? That's not a Nod campaign, that's a heretic campaign.
It would be better if the local leadership had reached out to Nod for support, and thereby helped orchestrate an ambush when GDI showed up. That's a much better setup for mission 1, and explains why the civilians aren't considered expendable from the mechanics standpoint established in official releases.
Oh, I thought this was gonna be like RA2 Conscripts
My favorite child soldier type pokemon
Shaping up no better currently. The politics channel is gone, but you can't have a lore discussion about the divergences from the real world surrounding C&C without someone implying this or the other genocide never happened IRL. Literally had someone lamenting not being able to get an autograph from the unabomber just today.
It looks like the trunk of a majestic redwood!
Yeah... With veins!
It kind'a looks like a sleepy baby seal all snuggled up in a sleeping bag!
Yeah, with veins!
You know what it reminds me of?
SUMMERTIME!
Hey, likewise, using the same name on steam too.
I don't see how I can uphold the request in the map's name.
Surely the best move is not to play at all.
I will have fun deducing which specific mod this comment is about in roughly 4 days from time of posting this as there seem to be 4 of these in my inbox.
"for no reason" is a little misleading here. The way a lot of these graphics enhancement mods are incorporated is the same way wall-hacks are introduced into the GoldSRC engine, and that is what Valve has deemed the best way to detect said wall-hacks. Why they need to continue to enforce this on an ancient, albeit historically significant, family of games, I cannot tell you. Why Sven Coop needs VAC, I also have no clue.
There's a point at which the closer you approach to realism, the more unsettling a simulated person gets, at the low end of realism you have stickfigures, and that works up to The Simpsons, and later on you have the likes of J.C. Denton. They sequentially gain 'believability' until you get to a certain threshold, where believability takes a nose-dive, on the other end of it you have the genuine article which is the height of believability and simulation. That dip just before is known as the uncanny valley, and half-life with its family of spinoffs and expansions uses it to great effect.

No, but really I think that works for they hunger.
Usually this is an issue with the maps not having custom faction ai enabled.
Same happens if you load C&C 3 maps into KW unmodified.
You need to manually add subfaction AI to the list the map will initialize.
This is probably the best aesthetic I've seen for a CABAL faction yet.
Nice blend of visual styles going on here, I like it.
Technically impressive but the story could use some work.
This track is pretty awesome.
Really nailed the atmosphere.
This isn't even what they looked like in Tiberian Sun. It was just a solid 'beam' that left a particle trail. This looks like some kinda anime energy weapon.
If you're gonna make it look like this, I suggest chalking it up to Renegade's tech tree and just call it "portable ion cannon" the timeline is about right.
What's the RIP for? There's new video's on the youtube page as of two weeks ago. User last logged in on the 8th.
Would be nice if you could make trees randomly spawn each round, so you wouldn't wind up with people memorizing the locations of each copse. Then again, I don't think anyone did that in RA2 as a viable strategy.
I think this is the first time I've seen original assets blend so seamlessly into the core game without overhauling/replacing all the original assets as well.
Pretty sure YR got the idea from Matrix, just made them look like nixie tubes to feed the mad-science/atom punk aesthetic.
Agreed with above, the shield is a coat of arms thing, could seem pretentions outside that context (And heck, in this day and age, probably in full and proper context too)
I've heard the pen is mightier than the sword, but the sword being mightier than the cruise missile is news to me.
Jokes aside, the sword vs missile motif illustrates the idea behind the name quite nicely, I think.
Very fitting with how Nod has a tendency of democratizing their Tiberium harvesting technology, while also proliferating Tiberium.
I was inclined to upvote until I saw the pineapple on pizza comment, so I won't downvote, but...

I'm a source Mapper and pro-bono multi-spectrum editor. I take criticism seriously, and tend to do my best to provide constructive feedback. I'm a man of few words, which makes me seem hard to impress, but if I'm paying attention, that usually means I already think you're on the right track. If you need an extra set of eyes on a project(Assuming I'm familiar with the medium), I can help and offer ample discretion. Where some think it a chore, I actually enjoy optimizing. I've also been known to draw, model, and am an odd fellow that actually enjoys rigging. I'm between modeling software at the moment as I find Blender lacking in features I consider essential, and everything else is too expensive.
