Zing!
Classic.
*Sound of brain cells committing suicide one by one*
Dammit... Alright, I'll give you jackasses that one...
Spreadsheets?
Seriously?
Freaking SPREADSHEETS!?
I'd pay to see that on-screen, just for the laughs!
Try pulling a flip lugging *him* around.
*snerk* Might want to rename "Republicans" to "(The Galactic) Republic" or something along those lines.
I keep imagining Donald Trump building a giant space-fence or something...
That intro audio could use some cleaning up and the positioning of the fleets (and the ships within) relative to the DSII may need further tweaking.
Something else I noticed, it didn't look like you were getting slammed from multiple directions by turbo-lasers, which is a plus for the grander battles and a constant irritation I saw with X-wing Alliance (doubly so when you're in a bomber team and lock detection has them swatting down torpedoes left and right, especially when AI is incapable of dumbfire). Don't know if that was intentional or not, but I like it. Makes interceptors and screening ships that much more important.
All that said. Phenomenal. Simply phenomenal. More than likely the closest anyone's gotten to properly scaling the battle.
Now this is what a proper space battle is supposed to look like!
Don't get to see these powerhouses in action very often. Hopefully with FS's ability to select your craft they'll get more combat time.
The TIES in the mod always looked a bit too shiny to me, but this is still a nice looking shot.
The DSII Sprite actually looks better this time. At first glance it actually looks part of the background. Very nice.
Additionally, props on the Falcon cockpit. Great attention to detail!
Huh. That actually looks pretty good in that old-school, retro sorta way.
EDIT: Also, "Ronald Raygun"? That got a chuckle out of me.
Try saying that on the mod's website forum page and get promptly shot down. That's what happened to me...
Oh yeah... I can imagine bombing things in this!
Saw two separate opportunities for that joke and took them both. Didn't really think about it.
Where the hell is George Takei when you need him?
Where the hell is George Takei when you need him?
Good progress so far.
Don't know what to say about the side-wide heal on the republic side. I'd probably have to play it myself.
To address your little "Peanut Gallery", I see the new Battlefront going one of 3 ways:
1: EA's gonna rush it all to hell, pouring the lion's share of the budget into advertising and whips to use on the dev team, resulting in a buggy, _blatantly_ unfinished product. (But then, what else is new?)
2. It's gonna be a mediocre, competent game that will be generally decently received, but certain business practices will still be hanging around like the smell of a trash compactor that hasn't been emptied for a month.
3. It'll be a pretty awesome game, marred by its publisher-exclusive platform (*cough* Origin *cough*), and quite possibly also suffer those same business practices.
I never liked the Disney-EA agreement, whole thing strikes me with a pretty blatant lack of research on Disney's part. Find the biggest publisher in existence and give them the job. Even a simple google search would probably show no less than 2000 hate-articles on them.
In any case, I see this mod in the way that Jim Sterling and Ben Croshaw see lower-profile titles in the off seasons, snacky bits of content to tide us over for the big releases.
Sweet, merciful crap did this one turn blog-tastic.
I'll work on my R. Lee Ermey impression.
I know it's a long while between comments, but something just occurred to me.
Your distinction between weapon types (Ex: Heavy Rifle and Carbine) is actually pretty brilliant, closest I can think of, if not near-identical, is out of the Battlefront Extreme mod, with the implementation of normal troopers with light carbines and an assault variant with a heavy repeating rifle.
This kind of distinction will maintain the same type of variety we're used to seeing in the vanilla classes.
Hey! I recognize that station the rebel craft fly past! Great use of concepts from other titles.
*Raises drink can* Here's to hoping that this project as well as the SWG emulator exceed all expectations!
"Footage is of a"- Cut to Mass Effect 3 cover "_Highly unfinished_ product"
BOOSH!
Right. Kindof a red flag that apparently the republic "just can't win". You're probably already on top of it, but it's still worrisome.
Always nice to see some signs of life. Or as I like to say to long inactive mods/modders, "Nice to see you scrape yourself offa that bus grille!"
What about Albatross? Big, built for efficiency, not speed.
Requisite complaint about dark object on black background.
Now that that's out of the way, this is lookin' pretty frickin' sweet. In all the time I've used these weapons, I've never thought about what they'd look like without all the signature parts (Ammo counter, scope, etc.)
Top-notch work!
Love it, would be a lot easier to pick out the detail if it weren't black on black, but it still looks stunning!
