ABOUT US
Hello! I'm Ian Everett, a smalltime indie game developer who's spent three years bringing this project to life. It was inspired by my love for the side-scrolling beat'em ups and platformers i grew up with, and if you share the same love for these types of games, then i can't wait for you to jump in and enjoy the bloodbath!
In this latest devlog i go through the game development process of adding dismemberment to my indie game Slaughter Cats in Unreal Engine 5. I'd been thinking about adding dismemberment to Slaughter Cats since i started the project but was always put off by idea of having to split apart all the meshes as i though it would take soooo long. I decided to just go ahead and do it and bite the bullet as i thought the feature would be really good with the game as it's so bloody already. I walk through the game dev steps i made in unreal engine and my thought process as i develop the dismemberment system to it's current state today.
