Star Apocalypse is the reinvention of the 4X genre. The game is a real time game of intergalactic civilization, using the computation power of modern computers to run advanced simulations on cultural, technological and societal interaction and development.
Am trying to write my own planetary texture generator from scratch. Works with some form of Perlin Noise and a procedurally generated gradient.
This is very early work, and far from done. The noise method needs a lot of adjusting and the same applies to the gradient. But it is basic work in progress.
The goal is that these planet textures get generated according to various planet stats (like temperature, atmosphere, etc).
