Have you noticed how sci-fi video games have been focusing on the theme of new world exploration? This was trending back in the late 80's / early 90's then somewhat died down. But now with games such as Star Citizen, No Man's Sky, Elite and indies' Rodina and EonWar, the push for a seamless space to planet transition has had a surge of interest and development in recent years.
Some might say this is due to the revival of the U.S. space program and the achievements of Elon Musk's SpaceX, rekindling our childhood imagination of visiting alien worlds.
