I've never seen an engine that will let you sell a mod without buying an engine license, and if you buy a license you're by definition making a game, not a mod.
So how exactly are #2 and #3 different?

Eventually, maybe. They're very expensive to implement in terms of man-hours, so we'd rather get the game to be very good before we start on bots.
And also not furry, since the animals don't have any human-ised features.
This is shaping up great. Glad I preordered a few months ago. :D
Are you a Supporter or did you associate a beta code with your Steam ID? This is still in closed beta, so you have to do one of those things for the stats system not to kick you. :)
Nope. It's Italian (albeit pidgin Italian, since we're just mashing musical terms together).
No idea what you're talking about. *whistle*
What are you logging in with? You need to use the email you registered with and the password that got emailed to you by the beta system.
None of the swords are *better* - they're all supposed to have advantages and disadvantages that put them on par with the three default swords. We're not 100% sure of the balance, though, which is why the beta exists, so if you find any sword that's broken, please let us know. :)
They're not reskins, they all have different models - but yes, we don't currently have animations in for dual swords, and animations are very costly (in terms of time and effort) to add in.
Nope! You can join the closed beta by using one of the beta codes we've been posting, too.
Look out for them on Facebook, twitter and here (we usually do one every newspost or so on all three).
You're wrong.
The mod is in CLOSED beta. To get in, you either have to be part of the PHAN club (supporters who have donated $10 or more to contribute to our server costs) or you need a beta key.
There's no "paying" involved, and mods have had donation boxes for as long as mods have existed.
What are you trying to do exactly?
You only need to register on the PH forums if you're going to join the Puny Human Appreciation Network. If you have a beta code, you don't need to register on the forums at all.
That said if you're trying to create an account and it won't let you use a password you're trying, the forum only lets people use passwords that contain upper case letters, lower case letters AND numbers. It's all three at the same time.
Can't do anything without a Source license, and since we don't have tens of thousands of dollars just sitting about to buy one and don't have Valve's undying love, it's not going to happen any time soon. :P
1. this is duelling, not a hack-and-slash MMO.
2. Blade Symphony has been around for longer than Vindictus. By your reasoning, Nexon should have given up working on Vindictus two years ago.
You should! You get a warm fuzzy feeling for helping us survive, and also our eternal thanks. :D
Yes, you should.
Yeah, that's one of our artists leaving the name and path in the swords list but forgetting to include the model. Ignore that for now and just don't pick that sword. :)
There's no exact date yet, but it shouldn't be much longer than a month more unless we find some critical problem that somehow eluded all out internal testing.
Keep in mind that this isn't a release date promise or anything, though. :P
This is looking awesome - such a shame we don't get to see the Walker's reload animation, though. The Schofield one is amazingly good.
Hey, we manually activated you. You should be getting an email pretty soon letting you know your forum account is up and running.
No customisation options beyond which sword model you want to use for now. We're looking into a few things right now but all of it is extremely hypothetical - we want to get a feature-complete, bug-free and stable mod out to the public before we start adding more things.
There's no fixed release date, but it'll be soon, I can guarantee you that - and I do mean soon as in "not much longer to wait" and not "Soon™."
This is the Supporter release, which means it's a closed beta that people who've donated to us in the past get access to. We do this because we feel the people who've helped us out financially deserve to be the first to look at our new games.
It's not "pay to play," because that would imply you're buying access to Blade Symphony, which is ridiculous - Blade Symphony is free, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future (i.e. until Valve offer us a free Source license, which will never happen :P).
We've done this for every single major release since Dystopia v1 at least (my memory is a little fuzzy), so it's not like it's anything new. :)
If you're press and you want to review Blade Symphony, send me an email (anorris AT punyhumangames DOT com) from whatever address your website uses and I'll see if I can hook you up. :)
I am pretty sure the rest of the team is going to agree with you, u-c. I certainly do.
Congrats to Robert & co. for a well-deserved win, and hurry up and get Dear Esther out already. :P
Wow - it's been forever since I checked up on ESF, and Jesus does the mod ever look good. I honestly thought the Best Upcoming nomination was for a Source engine port, that's how amazing the graphical quality is. I'm also digging the new mêlée system, it looks very impressive.
Keep up the top work, guys.
Just a quick informal update, guys -- we haven't gone dead or anything, I just have the flu. Sorry!
That's what you get when I post past my bed time on a workday. Fixed. :)
