That sea is looking pretty nice, what shader/system are you using for it?

Would this include doing the crap stuff?...Im being serious. I might need a tester in the not to distant future to test things like the nav system and UI Bugs, but it won't be fun stuff...yet! :)...cheers for the support!
This looks fantastic, im just curious which water system you are using or is it custom built?
I chose to work alone, been working on my project for coming up a couple of years, I was an artist and have had to learn programming principles using various tools to develop my project all done in my own time as a hobby.
Ill make a proper update in the not to distant future I hope. Its come on quite along way and for all this time ive been chipping away at it, spending 2 to 3 hours every day on it. Some days thogh I fail to get really anything done, as does happen! haha...im feeling pretty confident I can pull it off now though!
The Spitfire is a placeholder.I don't have a model of the Hudson, or indeed any other bomber at the moment :)
Its a figure of speech, a compliment, He's saying if you manage to complete the project and complete it well you will have a bright future ahead of you. :)
love it! Fantastic art style.....very unique. Love the blokes in the bowler hats!
Really like the style, cools pretty cool. looking forward to seeing more!
Very well done, that looks awesome!!! sadly I don't have an iphone so cant play it, but nicely original...like!
This looks great!!
Nice work so far, looking forward to seeing how this pans out. Also your audio commentary was comedy!
Good luck with it!
Watching....
Haha, did you win in that game?
Yep time will be scaled correctly, the calander starts from the 1st September 1939 and runs until September 1945.
Single battles/operations will atke place on pre set dates. but the grand campaign could be played through from start of the war to the finish of the war.
Indeed, I hope I won't need to stop working on it, Its just that progress might grind to the point that I don't really have anything new to show/tell for a period of time. but the way i see it, is that even if I do as little as change afew varibles or testing in a night, its still progress of sorts....and thats the important thing.
Good luck with this game, I remember playing a game similar to this afew years ago. Can't find it now and can't remember the anme of it. It was a turn based RTS about the BoB. Damn hard but damn good, now as im older and wiser wnated to try my hand at it again.
This could fulfil my needs nicely!!
Yeah, the artic circle one is pretty clean and simple which I like, I also quite like the hearts of Iron interfaces.
Excuse the ignorance but what is SOASE?, intresting idea about fleets being pinned.
Cheers, appreciate that.
Unfortunatily its going to be awhile before its released as its just a project im doing on the side, my hobby so to speak. Bit like building a classic car, it takes a hell of a long time! :)
Indeed, Especially in this day and age when very few games come with guides or manurals to tell you what those buttons acturally do.
In BotA im trying to restrict the amount of buttons, so all interactive elements are nessary and do something resonably major to effect gameplay.I also aim to provide the player with as much information as possible within a couple of clicks. Nothing worse than having to troll through 'layers' or menus of a GUI to find out a value or peice of data you might need.
so much aggression for a 13 year old!
Thanks for the Support!
No comments, must admit this is one of the more orginal projects on here....it needs some community loving....keep up the good work!
This looks superb! Nice job on getting it done, artwork looks amazing.
Shame I don't have an Iphone or id definitely purchase this.
is this just Army or you intending to cover the Airforce & Navy?
Met these guys at last years Euro-gamer Expo and played this, I Still have the little badges they gave out at the show on my computer desk, very good game, if at the time a little buggy, which im sure are all fixed now :), Had a good chat with Borut about the advantages and disadvantages of upgrading to Net 4.0 from 3.5...if I remember correctly.
also tracking, Just writing a GDD on a WW2 Naval RTS myself :)
Congrats on getting this done, pretty cool game, might pick it up as it reminds me of that old game 'fighting force' and i really enjoyed that.
Its saddening to hear about your piracy issues, hope you can find some way to stop that or at least not make it so easy, if its not already too late.
Id personally prefer a demo, this is just for piece of mind as its released by the actual development team as opposed to being repackaged by a 3rd party. I am still someone that doesn't trust torrents anyway (even legitimate ones).
This is a fair point, the benefits we are getting are not worth the hassle we have/are going through.
Also we never said there was anything wrong with XNA 3.1...we were perfectly happy with 3.1, our concern was that Microsoft, being Microsoft would *probably* pull the plug on XNA 3.1 before too long...Whats the point in funding support for 2 versions of the same software?
What we wanted to avoid is getting caught with a close to complete project then being forced to upgrade to 4.0 anyway....meaning we would have had these problems regardless...but with a massive amount more code to sort out and retest.
There are also afew benefits to be had that I didn't mention, for example framerates have been increased across the board and im sure theres afew more that are not as ovious.
Overall I agree with your point, and wish we didn't have to doit and could wait until the end of the project and upgrade before the next one, but its a gamble that so far hasn't paid off....only time will tell if we judged MS right or not.
Though you might wnat to update your main company website (Lukewarm not PC) as its still splattered with info about Unigine...doesn't look good buissness wise if on one site your working with Unigine and the other UDK.
Forgive me if you have another project on the go thats using Unigine or soemthing. :)
Looks immense!,very very impressed,
Whats was your over riding reason for dumping your orginal engine ( the name of which I forget, my bad!)...it seems to me alot of mods are up in the air about what engines they will use as there is now quite a selection on the market particularly in the FPS genre.
Though UDK is amazing, no denying its potential, but there have been other quality mods turn its back on it with (surprising?) claims there is not enough programmers who know Uscript....not enough level designers who know UnrealEd etc etc.
Kinda throws a spanner in when ya got some top quality mods moving from UDK and others like PC moving too it.....how was the transition?
Looks completely rad though and good job fellas :).
I too thought of the book...by Chris Ryan, former SAS coincidentally...
