A very good call. I presume that by 2024 the WON players are such a tiny minority anyway that catering to them is pure waste compared to the necessary effort.

As you can observe my comment was sent over two week before 1.91 got released, at the time I had no clue that a new version was ever coming.
With that said it's great that there is now an updated version on the site, but I haven't tested it so I can't say how well it supports single player games with bots, if at all.
Personally I love the calm beginnings before hitting the eye of the storm, for example in Zelda: Wind Waker, and of course Half-Life 1 and Blue Shift. Such beginnings both immerse you in the world while providing contrast to the chaos to come, thus setting the stakes for the player.
If I had to choose I'd rather take an overtly long intro compared to an overtly short one, but neither is ideal of course. I think Half-Life 1 and Black Mesa were pretty much perfect with it.
For any fans of the mod, the latest version featured here on Moddb is an outdated one. The newest version (1.82) can be found from beyond this link: Mediafire.com
The core mod doesn't support single play however. For that use this easy minimod (only supports version 1.82), and set the bot intelligence on low because for some reason that will increase their aggressiveness and help their pathfinding: Moddb.com
Cheers!
A sly little minimod which essentially saves FinnWars for continued play in the future. The mod does seem to crash easily on certain maps but other than that the add-on works brilliantly on the Battlefied 1942 Anthology HD version I'm playing it on. Ironically the bot intelligence is suggested to be turned to minimum however to gain maximum aggression out of them, otherwise they rarely manage to conquer capture points.
Also for anyone not in the know, the version of FinnWars this addon is created for is 1.82, not the outdated version featured on the mod's Moddb page. The newest version can be found here. Go wild and have fun: Mediafire.com(1).exe
To the creator of the mod great thanks for creating this!
It's perfectly fine. I think people are worried largely because promising total conversion type mods are so rare these days and because their development often halts due to overt ambition. Not suggesting that it would be case here, it's just a sign that people care enough about the mod to want it see released.
This is.. quite something indeed.
Of the yet unreleased mods this one is, along with L'Aigle for M&B Warband, thr one I still look the most forward to by far.
Man, this mod warms up sweet memories from the time ambitious total conversions like this were more common. Am looking so much forward to giving this version a try.
Star Wars Conquest for Mount & Blade Warband deserves at least an honourable mention. While it was never entirely finished, it's nonetheless very comprehensive, polished and lovingly crafted rpg fare.
Any plans to improve the existing layout of the Xen maps? If any part of the game would benefit from a substantial rework it'd be those.
Never stops amazing me how exhaustive the research and effort put into this mod really is, it's something one sees very rarely in Warband mods especially. God speed
This only further confirms that the mod is dead lol
Gotta try this one out
Along with The Core mod this is visually some of the most impressive utilization of the Goldsrc that I've seen.
Very, very promising. The most interesting Goldsrc project I've seen in a long time
The new scene looks visibly more lively. Good job with the update
No, we shouldn't. None of what you're saying here is true, simply put. Nobody is blaming the ordinary Russians for what's going on, they're innocent to what's happening, but the Russian government plays the victim card because it's beneficial to its geopolitical strategy of brutalizing its neighbours into submission. The west was very much looking forward to friendship with Russia throughout the 90's and 2000's, proven by the deep economic ties that were mutually developed. Heck, most of European energy is still reliant on Russian gas and oil exports, so that's how deeply we were willing to trust them.
Instead Putin directed his attention at suffocating dissidents inside his own country, collecting power to his own hands, and starting wars in Molvoda, Georgia and Ukraine to reinvigorate a lost cause of Russian imperial supremacy. He blames the EU and NATO for everything because that hides his own game of power politics, yet NATO or EU can't be blamed for Russia turning into a totalitarian dictatorship, nor for its wars in independent countries that no longer wanted to stay imprisoned in the Russian sphere of influence.
And yes, Putin's wide influence is recognised but influence has never been a reason to respect anyone, especially Putin who has affected politics only in a highly negative manner.
So can we tolerate the Russians? Absolutely yes, they're wonderful people who already ARE a part of the European community. Putin and his allies? No, they're nothing but murderers and criminals.
Putin is the fascist aggressor, and a corrupt, exploitative and tyranical one at that who turned his country from the path of prosperity into a reactionary autocratic nightmare where the people live in poverty and die young without democratic rights while Putin and the oligarchs own countless luxury yachts and villas around the world, and where dangerous war-mongering ideologues like Alexander Dugin can dictate foreign policy.
And most of all Russia is a monarch of absolutely nothing, what you're claiming there is utterly delusional. Putin's visions about re-establishing past "glory" is complete nonsensical insanity shared exclusively by him and his boot-lickers, and one for which countless have pointlessly suffered and died because of in Chechnya, Kazakstan, Syria, Moldova, within Russia itself in cultural and political minority communities, and now in Ukraine. He has ruined Russia, instigated a major war, and a spit on his face is the greatest compliment that he deserves.
Not gonna follow a creator who's apologizing for that regime or a mod that endorses even an inch of its political propaganda.
Ngl pretty tasteless to post this kind of stuff at a time like this
This is pretty mindblowing, not gonna lie

lol. Criticism for one's work is an inevitable part of a creative process, especially one like a game or a mod, and the ability to take constructive criticism is a sign of possessing character. To get so upset from mean comments as to delete one's entire creative legacy is the opposite of that, pretty immature if I'm honest
Kinda drastic to delete the mod altogether. Why not just make the code open source?
I remember being fairly shocked when the Euro Truck Simulator mod won the 2014, but in hindsight it's invigorating that all kinds of genres have managed to shine on the on the Mod of Year votings. So, kudos to all teams who have been picked as winners!
I'll probably then wait it out for the next update before trying the mod, simply because even with instructions I only ever manage to break my software whenever I go modify the files :P
From the released material however it looks like to be worth the wait
Wtf? It's literally one of the most active mods on the site
