I am an IT professional and have worked in a number of fields including games development, online marketing and website development.
The biggest mod project I have worked on is Classic Doom 3, however I have worked on a number of other projects for various amounts of time including Zombie Slayer, Hexen: Edge of Chaos, Jailbreak Source (testing) and several older mods for other game engines.
I no longer work on mods, or games related projects and am concentrating my efforts in VR using the Samsung Gear VR platform. I am happy to give advice and share my experiences of modding and games development to anyone who gets in touch as I feel it is important to the modding community to help each other along the way.
Hey Gazz
I am Luke Murphy and at some point down the road I plan on using the Doom 3 engine to remake E2M6 Halls Of The Damned and I was wondering if I could use certain assets from this Classic Doom 3 mod here when making it?
No, not the musical themes (including the Classic Doom 3 theme) but just some sound effects that's all as well as level design?
That'd be awesome, go for it. The only thing we ask is that you test compatibility so the map works alongside the mod without any issues. Probably the best way to do this would be to require the mod to enable the map to work, this way you would then get the assets and also the DLL custom functionality. If the map is completely standalone you might then lose secrets tracking etc...
Keep us updated on your progress, would be great to see once it's done!
Hey man, i hope you work on the DooM III Classic Mod. I still love it very much, and we wanna see the end of this mod, so go ahead amd finish the mod :)
