Hi Argoon, it could be a pretty long discussion. Mainly lack of documentation - especially on UI and animation, that on top of an over complicated system. FBX import had issues, maybe that got better with the latest releases. marketplace only contained 3d assets. Almost everything takes a lot more time to do in Cryengine, that is even when you know how to do things. also a lot of the financial instability of Crytek (at least at the time, not sure how things are nowadays) was another issue. You are pretty much locked into the shaders that they offer, and need to know HLSL in order to create one. Asset browser was also far behind Unreal's. Also the community is extremely small compared to Unreal, so gameplay tutorials are almost nonexistant (besides some of the stuff me and another person did on youtube). If you'd like more details you can PM on discord - neverfollow81#1453 - I also have a server discord.gg/5tg66Nx
Hi guys, I have started a discord server to post some updates for the project - Discord.gg - hope to see you there
Hmm, can't say i noticed any slowness. It's been working quite good for me. let me know if you need any tips - neverfollow81#1453 on discord
Thank you so much! Sorry I have been absent for a while, but the move from Cryengine to Unreal took a bit for the learning curve.
Hi all, after a bit longer delay than I was hoping, due in part to changing the engine to Unreal Engine, here is the first gameplay video in a line of others to come. Thanks Marc Fabriciuz for all the help, some awesome assets by Clinton Crumpler, torch by Nikola3D Skfb.ly and with Blender for the rest. Let me know what you guys think.
P.S. I will be doing a cleanup of the images as I am transitioning the environments to Unreal.
Hi all, here is a quick fly-through the swamp prototype area -
Unfortunately I am still working on it, so hang in there. There will be a demo coming out, hopefully next year.
Glad you like it baspatolivas! I will do my best!
MeezamAlex, the game is still in development. Should be a few years before it's ready, so hang in there :)
Of course there is more than just the survival part. There is a back story to the game. Check out the description.
Thank you for the kind words Vairon! I will do my best!
acaticba, nothing like that will be in here. :)
Guest, I will do this in the future when I might do a closed alpha
Fox_Hollow thank you so much! I am thrilled you like it. I've started doing more frequent Twitch stream on the development, so feel free to drop by - Twitch.tv
Hello everyone, recently I have begun doing Twitch streams almost every time I work on the game. So if you want to stop by, and see some of the progress, maybe even have suggestions, please do - Twitch.tv
Vairon, thanks so much for the kind words. At the moment I do not have a release date, since the development will take a few more years, but hang in there. Updates will keep coming here and more frequent on the Facebook page - Facebook.com
BlueFrozt, thanks so much for offering to make the video. Since I am a one person team (maybe I'll be able to get more help later on) it will take a bit of time. So hang in there :).
As far as pc requirements go, I am trying to keep within console specs, so a mid level pc will definitely be able to run fluidly it when it comes out. For the engine I am using Cryengine.

I would consider myself a beginner at this trade, so I learn as I go. I've started this game dev endeavor 5 1/2 years ago, and starting to give it more focus about 2 1/2 years ago. It has now turned into an intense passion, to a point that I'd rather do game dev than play a videogame. I work as an Internet Engineer (kind of a Jack of all trades right now), so there is a slight connection to the game dev world. I am self taught in everything that I do, from 3d modelling, to level design, sound and the coding part. I've been working on the 'On Your Own' project on my own (no pun intended). Software used - 3d modelling - Blender texturing - Substance tools (Painter and designer) + Photoshop CS6 (I've been trying out Substance Painter as well) game engine - Unreal Engine 4
