It's incredible that you guys are still going strong after two decades! It's really gone leaps and bounds in that time, too. I've been playing this for probably more than 15 years by now, and it's been great to see this mod continue to grow and improve the entire time. Thanks for all these years of fun and your hard work, crafting such an excellent mod!

Wow, I've never seen BF1942 look that good before! The animations and iron-sights certainly make a big difference. Are they just going to be for cycling the bolt, or are we getting reload animations as well?

This looks like it could be very interesting! You've already got some great-looking aircraft and textures in.

I see in some screenshots you have the vanilla AK-101. Are you planning to put in new hand weapons as well, or use vanilla ones?

You need to edit the Aidefault.ai file, found in the Heat of Battle mod folder under AI. In there you can change the number of bots and their difficulty.

I'd personally prefer the normal kits to not dual-wield, but having pickup kits would be a good solution I think.

This is an excellent diary! Love the cinematography and excellent narration. I hadn't checked in on Skyblivion in many years, and it's amazing how far you guys have come in that time. This truly is one of the most impressive and ambitious modding projects I've ever encountered, and I wish you all the best as you bring it to its long-awaited conclusion!

Potentially it could fulfill some kind of non-combat support role, like how resource controllers allowed more efficient mining operations in vanilla. Not sure exactly what would make sense for them to do, though. Alternatively, they could be map scenery, perhaps for a scenario where the Arks are being fought over prior to them leaving.

It's good to see ME:R having a new lease on life! Rather fitting considering how the year has gone for the series as a whole. For some reason, the AK gun sounds for the bots are louder than any other sound. I was playing on Abandoned Village and had to turn the volume way down to avoid the volume being literally painful lol

Other than that and a few maps that like to crash, it's a great mod and you've clearly put in a lot of work! The sheer number of factions is absolutely ridiculous lol

If you go into the game's root directory, find the mods folder and AP's folder in there, there will be an AI folder with a file called aidefault.ai. If you open that file with a text editor like Notepad you can edit the number of bots that spawn in singleplayer.

The reason why Virgin Forest isn't showing up in the singleplayer map list is an old bug with the scrollbar that DICE never fixed. It always stops exactly one map before the actual end of the list. An easy fix I've seen other mods use is simply placing a map folder with nothing but the description file, and making the name start with ZZZ or something. This provides an empty filler map at the end of the list and allows all the actual maps to show up as normal when using the scrollbar.

No worries about postponing this, it's better to have a smooth release in a week than to have a bunch of errors from being posted without as much testing, even as hard as it can be to postpone a big release like this.

Really looking forwards to the release no matter when it comes, the mod as a whole is going to be amazing once it's complete, and it's decisions like this that show you're the right one to make it!

This is looking good! I do think the modular release style is a good idea, it'll not only keep the game from bugging out, but allow people to customize the mod and keep the size down if they only want some of the conflicts contained within.

Sorry to hear about the data loss, but it looks like things are stepping up again, I'm loving the new content!

The update looks phenomenal! It's been much more stable for me than before, for one thing. And the ENB and UI updates are great- the UI is probably the best BF3/4 style UI I've seen for this game!

I'm also loving the new weapons and effects. The muzzle flash effects are excellent, and I hope you're able to get permission to put in the PR explosions and fire effects.

The suppression mechanic is quite fun, as well. It makes the bots much more unpredictable in combat and keeps me on my toes. They've actually escaped from me once or twice and returned to shoot at me from an unexpected direction, which I love.

I don't even have any gripes about it yet, except I'd like to echo the requests for unlocks to be added. Additional weapon variety can only improve things.

Keep up the great work, phale!

With the bot numbers, it's possible to change that to actually have 64 (or more) bots if you want. Go into the game folder, and find the AIX2 mod folder. In there will be an AI folder, and a file called aidefault.ai. You can edit that file in notepad and set the SP bot numbers to whatever you want, as well as change the bot difficulty. Sadly that won't fix the bots being BF2 bots, though lol

Tsingtao also appears to have a similar issue- the German bots can move around fine, but the Japanese bots just sit in their assault boats and don't try to sail to shore. They spawn and enter the assault boats but then just sit there next to their starting ship.

For whatever reason, on the Kolomea coop map, the bots don't seem to move at all.

Other than that I'm loving the beta so far, the new bolt sounds are so much nicer than the vanilla ones were, and together with the fixed animations give the weapons a much more visceral feel.

The cavalry is fun, but it controls a bit weirdly (although that's to be expected when BF1942 isn't designed for cavalry at all XD)

The new maps and the Serbians are very fun, it's nice to finally have a game show the war in the Balkans!

6.0 should have the most vehicles/maps. It's normal that they show up as 16-player in-game, they just didn't put in different sizes for them. They're all actually 64-player sized maps.

The version up for download right now is very old and quite different from what you've been seeing in the screenshots. There are a good number of new vehicles/weapons in the old version if you want to check it out, it's a very good mod. The new version is going to be improving on a lot of that, adding even more weapons and vehicles, and new factions.

All you need to do is download the installers and run them, they should walk you through it. The most you might have to do is point them to your bf1942 directory, which is probably in your program files folder.

I'm having some issues with this mod on the Origin version of the game. My ME decided it'd be fun to reset the textures to default in the middle of my playthrough (everything worked just fine last week)

I reinstalled the game, reinstalled MEUITM, but now every time I try to open the game with MEUITM installed, the game never starts. When I close Origin, something called "activation ui" pops up in Task Manager in the background, where I can't do anything with it. Without the mod installed, the game starts up fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?
