I gotcha. I personally hope the theme isn't too crazy with a bunch of different groups but rather a few groups that relate to one another. But either way, I'm excited to see what you guys decide to go with! Also your level of community involvement with all the replies is awesome.

Here is a quick and sloppy example of what I mean by the customize bit. There could be motorbike helmets, leather gloves, mohawks, scars, baseball caps etc.

You guys should keep the characters as they are, nice and simple with the single color. They're unique because of how simple they are, their calm and innocent appearances only increases the silliness of their movements and they'd allow you to create just as simple and recognizable artwork for the game, not mention easy merchandise if it ever comes to that.

I know you're planning on using the character designs from your webpage and the game's menu but personally I think you should reconsider. Their current designs are a big hit right now and I think they'd work better and be more recognizable than, no offense, some generic thugs and gangsters. To add variety to them and create the street gangs you have planned I personally think you should use their current design but with accessories like vests and hats (Bonus point if you add a knock-off Warriors vest). If nothing else at least keep the glowing eyes and no mouth, they perfect.

You guys have likely had this all planned out for a long time and this probably just sounds like whining but that's just my two-cents. I really enjoy the game so far, the music is great (Like a mix of Warriors + Drive) and the art style, as it is, is amazing, I instantly feel in love.

Maybe you could do a poll and ask people which they'd prefer? Create a mock-up of what the finished character would look like and let people vote if you should go with the change or keep your alpha look. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind when I see the characters put together. Anyways, keep up the good work, looking forward to more Gang Beasts!
